Edward Blad – Founder & Managing Director
Edward started his career in Independent Research in 2007 upon joining Eden Financial. In 2011, following their acquisition by Marex Spectron, Edward was promoted to manage Business Development for the Independent Research team.
He has developed and imparted to Institutional Investors unrivalled insight and skills in evaluation across IRPs. Edward has established and developed working relationships with over 1,000 Providers, setting up countless introductions as well as effectively managing the rapidly expanding series of long-lasting relationships which have ensued. This grounding led him to set up IRF in 2016.
Alexis Vatistas, CFA - Business Development
Alexis joined IRF in 2017 and brings extensive relevant industry experience, having worked as an active Equity Fund Manager. Roles on the Buy-side include running an S&P-rated top-quartile fund at Singer & Friedlander, and 7 years co-managing a £2bn fund focusing on Pacific Equities at Universities Superannuation Scheme - USS.
He has intimate knowledge of the research sector, and an expert eye for what constitutes differentiated research output and specifically its economic value; skills honed during the process of unbundling research payments from execution costs during his time at USS. These qualities are invaluable to the IRF due-diligence process, assisting in ensuring that only the highest-quality IRPs are selected to join the suite of Providers.
Declan Wooloughan - Technology
Declan joined IRF in 2017 and brings with him extensive experience gained from working in various roles on the Sell-Side since 1997. He started at Rhine Securities, analysing companies from the DACH region moving in to research sales whilst at Peel Hunt and then into a sales trading and execution role whilst at KBC. He joined Erste Group Bank and spent 11 years broking Emerging European equities to Pan-European funds later becoming Head of the London team.
He has placed IPO’s, SPO’s and ABB’s and arranged conferences and 1,000s of meetings for companies and analysts. He has built and maintained strong client relationships. This in-depth knowledge enables him to act as a highly efficient introducing agent between the research providers and the Buy-Side.
Jenny Metta - Business Development
Jenny joined IRF in 2018 and brings extensive sales experience in the financial services industry. After completing an MSc in Banking and International Finance at Cass Business School she started her career in the City as a derivatives broker then progressed into Sales. She worked on the Buyside for one of the major hedge funds, MAN Investments, and at Fitch Ratings, Deutsche Boerse and GimmeCredit, where she headed up their respective Sales teams.
She is very determined and takes a very detailed and thorough approach to the sales and after sales process. She has built an extensive network among institutional investors across the UK and Italy and thrives in maintaining high level relationships between the buy side and research providers.
Jamie Stewart – Senior Advisor
Jamie was heavily involved in the emergence of Independent Research in Europe, having been the first London professional to set up a leading Global Independent Research Consultancy and Intermediation business - at Instinet, as from 1999, before moving to Eden Financial and later Marex Spectron.
He was a co-Founder and Board Member of AIRP (Association of Independent Research Providers) and Chairman of the AIRP Markets Advisory Committee. He has written numerous pieces for financial publications, spoken on panels and held anchor-roles on CNBC, BBC World News and Bloomberg.
